Hi,

You bought D9 with transimmiter,USD1000 is very good price.:D

Jason

CapKapak:
I bought my D9 mid last year for slightly under US$1000 in Malaysia. This is with the transmitter.

I agree with some folks that its convenient to have a dive watch and comp whilst on diving holidays. Saves the hassle of bringing two watches on a trip.

The transmitter has not failed me yet, been giving very consistant readings compared to my analog SPG.

Hello there.. i'm new to this board... I just brought a D9 with the transmitter, and i also brought the Tusa RS-240... Well my question is.. where do i hook the transmitter up when the first stage is in the way with the regulator...and the octo is connected to the other side... i don't have space (room) to connect my transmitter.. could anyone help me answer this.

Hello there firefighter.

You need to have an additional High Pressure (HP) port available on your first stage. Some regulators have extra HP ports (like my Sherwood) but if you don't you will need to take out your pressure gauge from the 1st stage and use that port.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jason
Let me know what you are asking for a price.
Bill

That was close to 5 months ago, I'm pretty sure he sold them by now.:penguin:;)

Holy crap!! this thread has been going on for 3 years?!

I got a D9 as I was pissed off with my stinger showing ---- when deeper than 150m ,and its a lot clearer to read. The battery seems to last longer as well.

I know it's been a while but I will add my 2 cents:
I have been using a D9 for nearly 3 years. Paid 1300usd w/transmitter.
Have sent it to the shop twice for repairs that included a module replacement (thats just about everything inside), battery and a band replacement. I was lucky that Suunto paid for the module.

Is it worth it?
I have certainly enjoyed using it, especially when it was new and loved getting the pressure info both during the dive and after. By analyzing the pressure data on the PC dive manager I was able to get a better understanding of gas consumption. Since then I have received about 8 certifications and moved to tec diving. Now I realize that the transmitter is actually an extra failure point and have stopped using it. Plus when tec diving I just use the D9 in gauge mode so it has become an expensive timer and depth gauge. I still like it though and have no regrets buying it. I may bust it out again if I do some shallow rec diving. Oh and I think the compass is a waste. It can't replace a true magnetic compass.

Will it get you chics? Don't know about that but I can say it makes it harder to negotiate dive prices because the shop thinks you're a whale when you stroll in with one.

Cheers,
A Chanster

I recently found out that the D9 with transmitter costs the same as the Liquivision X1.

There's no comparison.

The Liquivision rocks.
