In my life, I have pissed away a lot of money on a lot of things. However, there is NO WAY I would spend $1500 on a D9. There are lots of other options that, while they may not LOOK as good, they certainly WORK as good.

Sure - a D9 looks great on the wrist. However, the fish do not care. Above surface, I'm not going to be wearing a $1500 diving instrument around all the time anyway. Between dive trips, it would be sitting in its box, in my safe.

I'd happily get an AI computer - even one with a wireless transmitter, but it wouldn't be the D9 and it would cost a whole lot less. I recently bought a used (w/2 dives) Vytec with transmitter for $600. Works great. Looks good enough for its purpose.

Saves the hassle of bringing two watches on a trip.
Yeah - I can see how after hauling a bunch of dive gear and other stuff across the planet, throwing an extra watch in the mix would be a real burden.

Good luck!

Here's my question:

Did the OP (Freefly Scuba) ever buy the D9? Or did he end up with something else???

Let us know!
