Soooooo, if you are a chick and have a D9, will that get you some guys ????? Just wondering if it works the other way around !!!
Sylvie

Yep...but we are shallow and easily taken with small, shiny, flashy things with lots of buttons...:smileysto

You can also use the compass to find your way home after it got you that chick...........

Hey Hey Hey, I have D9, but I don’t get any chicks so far… LOL~~~

The most convenient thing of D9 is its size. You can wear it like a watch during the dive trip. I don’t see any divers who were wearing the big SP wrist computer out of water.

It has three gas switch function, but you cannot get three transmitters. Ouch, I realized it after buying D9. In addition, this function is for the deco diving, but in reality I am wondering how many tech divers are actually using this watch and function except the gauge mode and bottom timer. I also haven’t use this gas switch function during the deco diving.

The digital compass is a gimmick if you are doing a lot of navigation. It will gives an instant direction, but not for the navigation. Don’t get me wrong. The navigation and search and recovery are the major part of my diving type, scientific diving.

I don’t have any bug or error on the computer. Only thing I am sick and tired of is the Suunto DM SW. It has an endless bug and fix.

I don’t think it is worth for $1500, but you can get it lower than that. If I do it again, I would buy other tech oriented computer for me. But, if I can afford to do it again, I will buy it for my GF who is a rec diver.

In addition, my GF is much better than any chicks out there…. 

Just my 2 psi.

I have the D9 too and I love it!! I must admit it doesn't excite my guy but then he would rather be on the greens than in the blue. I have never had any problems with it. I am still waiting for the dive manager to be improved and would like a better strap for it.

Suunto recently released the new update, 2.2.0.. Check it out!:D

I have one and love mine, but I freely admit that I only use a fraction of its capabilities. I bought it more for the size (I'm petite and most dive computers are way too big for my wrist, even over a wetsuit) and for the convenience of having all the info I need in one place.

Im some what new to the diving world...The Suunto D9 is a small yet loaded piece of diving equiptment, is it worth 1500 dollars.
I have nothing to compare it to my this purchase will be my first computer.
I plan on still using a analog device but as for a loggin gcomputer with wireless air intergration bla bla bla. I don't want to get in to the specifics of the dive watch D9 but if you know anything about it please just give me some feedback.

If you like it tell me why.

If you don't compare it to something else.

From my inexperianced eye it looks great. Is it worth $1500.00

Thanks to all that share ....
If I had some bucks to spare (but not excessively so) and I wanted to replace my Cobra I would probably go for the Vytec over the D9. The Vytec is missing the compass and the Deep Stop calculator (although supposedly there is a new Vytec DS model available that has Deep Stop functionality). The Vytec is also slightly larger and is missing a few of the "watch" features that the D9 has. The Vytec even has a couple of features that the D9 doesn't have - a dive simulator and user-replaceable batteries. Other than that they share 95% of the major features (they both use the same algorythms and user interface), but the Vytec is $500 less money.

BlueDevil:
The D9 I believe has an RGBM algorithm with deep stops. This is probably a good thing, but for half the price you could buy a Mares M1 Rgbm computer that also has deep stops. The money you save would go a long way towards buying a decent reg.

The Mares M1 sucks. I have it. It is too blocky, the buttons are too hard to press. The display is too hard to read so - if anyone wants one, I have one to sell. I just bought a D9.

If you are only planning on using nitrox initially, and not having air-integration isn't a big issue, then the new D6 is a far cheaper option (and in my opinion, it looks better – it isn't as chunky, it isn't as shiny 'bling' and it has a better buckle on the strap).

It will do two gas mixes, so if in the future you do want to get into accelerated deco, etc, then this will handle it. It also has the DS algorithm.

In the UK, the D9 goes for £1,100 with transmitter, the D6 is £470.

The D9 is not worth the cash!! here in the UK we would pay about $2200 with the wireless component. I personally prefer the Vyper it will do everything you need at this stage. Dont get it just because its the latest and supposedly the greatest!!! Save your cash and get a tried and tested model like the Vyper and stick with the traditional air gauges and compasses etc.
