I'm looking at buying a Suunto D6i but would like some feedback on it from users particularly the 3D compass, useful? problems? Will it replace a standard UW compass?

I've got the D9, but I never use the compass because I find it uses the battery up faster, it's annoying to access it and a standard/manual compass is quicker/easier to have and just glance at, at the same time I'm checking my computer....I've got both on bungee mounts next to each other......I've tried the D6i and didn't feel there was any real gain/advantage to it.......

If your going to buy a D6, make sure you change the strap to a Tibby Adapter strap, i got rid of my D6 because I broke four of the straps.
