I could see this go in a couple of ways.

A guy goes into a LDS and says make this work. They sure sure. They replace the computer and say it was broken. $800. Cha-Ching.

The same guy says I need a HP spool. $15. One for the consumer !

The same guy orders the part and fixes it himself. $8 and the feeling of accomplishment and pride.

This guy buys the part and screws it up. Has to go to the LDS to get it fixed. $800. And a valuable lesson learned. I'm not sure how you could screw it up. But for arguments sake.

This guy goes diving and it leaks. Oh well. Off to the LDS.

I'm sure somebody can come up with a scenario that the guy goes diving and kills himself. I'm not sure how it could happen but I'm 100% sure somebody on here will argue for that. Probably the guy at the LDS.

To each his own. Knowledge is power ( in the right hands )

One more question. I read that the spool needs to be lubed, do you just use silicone?
