Tongue in cheek...

I see fish hanging stationary with no effort, when I'm being blown right by.. Obviously a ploy to catch out divers

But they aren't just milling about are they? They're all facing into the current or hiding out under overhangs. I guess we need to be aware of all clues, or attempt to be.

Last time I was caught in a current it was because I hadn't snugged tight to one side of the channel between two rocks as had been set out in the briefing. Embarrassingly,.I was not able to extract myself on my own to rejoin my fellow drivers. They just sat back and watched me struggle. Finally, I gave the "get over here sign" and one of the divers joined me, then between the two of us we were able to kick me out of the current. So if you're not alone maybe snag up to your buddy; perhaps the two of you will be able to make your way out as you kick as a unit. As ever, stop what you're doing, think and act. Definitely keep control of your breathing rate, if at all possible. Good luck!
