In the movie Sin City one of the characters used surgical tubing iirc to minimize blood loss during an amputation. And don't heroine addicts use some kind of tubing as well - maybe just to get the vein to pop out? So maybe doctors use it during the administration of intravenous medications.

Shannon--I'm too lazy to pull out my camera....

ironically, I had to pull out my camera bag to get my bungee necklace....somehow it ended up in there after the last day of diving.

you want to take about....all these measurements are the long end of a 3x5 card. I'm not sure if a 3x5 card is actually 3inchesx5inches. I advise you measure it with a 3x5 card :) (I can't find a ruler in my dorm room, and a drill doesn't take good measurements)

take a length 5 lengths of a 3x5 card long, add an inch maybe. Lay it down, and manuvre it into a circle, overlapping the ends by about 1.5 of the short side of a 3x5 card, and place a ziptie about 1 thumb width in on each side. Pull tightly.

The better way to make the loop for the mouthpiece might be to cinch it up around an actual mouthpiece. You don't want it to have to stretch too much to let the mouthpiece in, or else you'll have to fight to get it in or out. The actual hole will be about 3/4 of the short side of a 3x5 card wide.

Trim the ziptie ends as close as you can, then melt with flame, otherwise they'll poke you.

If you have long hair, you might want to make it an inch or three longer, so it fits over your head without pulling your hair.

So it's really just a circle with overlapped ends.

^That is the other way to do it. The regulator will not pull out of the bungee that way, it'd be pretty rare for you to need to pull your octo out of the bungee to give it to someone, but I wouldn't want to limit myself like that, which is why I use a necklace that the octo mouthpiece fits into. But you rally can do it either way.
