I've never dove with a hooka, how deep can you go before you begin having trouble breathing through the long hose?

Most of the "hooka" rigs out there use a fairly low pressure compressor to reduce energy use and stress on the equipment. Typical IP will be about 40-50 psig at the surface.
They use second stage regulators designed for the lower IP and work well to something like 80 FSW or so.

Generally the mfg will give a depth rating for one diver that is deeper than the rating for two or more divers. This is because the compressor can maintain a higher pressure at lower CFM demand.

so yah, you can easily get bent spending that much time down at that depth

you have a couple of grade-A idiots on your hands my freind

aaaanyway, they probably just got lucky, i've had a freind make a no-air acent from 100 feet w/o getting bent, so your body is more resiliant that you think (usually)

but their gonna get screwed over if they keep it up

If it's a church group, maybe there is some type of divine intervention that keeps them from getting DCS.

Then again, the gods of the deep can smite anybody at anytime. Not good to take chances.

My philosophy: the Gods may not be out to get you, but they're not above taking a cheap shot if you leave them an opening.

with the hookah setup most of the time you are only in 20 to 30 feet of water so you can stay for longer times because your air doesn't run out but if you go deeper the 20 or 30 ft you better know what is going on befor you become the pretzel man

Pssst - this thread is over a year old.

Is it International Day For Thread Reactivation?

Now that made me laugh out loud!

I wonder if those Brownie/Hooka divers buddy dive? Oh, and if you have a 60' primary, how long is your back-up??? :)

A DIR Hooka diver's primary hose would be 67'.
