True, but this is considered advanced theory on the HookaBoard. :D

I think the Hooka board is about something entirely different. The only water they're worried about is... well you get the idea.

Hookah? Different water? :06:

Quick internet search, oh my!:11:

I never realized that word had another meaning.

I think that may explain where the whole hookah diving thing came from.:D

The proof, as they say, is in the pudding (or something like that).
Think back 70 or so years when all divers were surface supplied. They all got bent at one time or another (and another, and another and...and...and)

Just my 2psi... I have an article somewhere which states that advances in wetsuits have had more of an effect on DCS figures than anything else. People just couldn't stay in the water as long with a home-made woolen romper suit! That, in combination with lower tank pressures etc. Now we all expect 3000psi minimum and wear hi-tech hyperstretch, super warm reflective things with warming girdles and blah-di-blah!

Getting back on track... if these guys truly belive that their air is not compressed why not suggest that they take a couple of garden hoses down there, and try to breathe in. It would be a lot cheaper! Just give 'em a quick lesson on dead air spaces (for safety's sake!) and send them on their way.

If it's a church group, maybe there is some type of divine intervention that keeps them from getting DCS.

Then again, the gods of the deep can smite anybody at anytime. Not good to take chances.

I've never dove with a hooka, how deep can you go before you begin having trouble breathing through the long hose?

I suppose it would depend on the max output pressure of your compressor, along with it's cfm rating to be able to provide enough air.

The commercial diver guys use surface supplied WAY down there, I think the record dive was on the order of 2,000+ feet.
