Normally at Paradise reef there are a ton of boats and snorkelers all over the place. Since the flu thing it has been very quiet around the area. On a normal Saturday afternoon there would have been 5 boats and 25 divers and snorkelers there to see it. Super lucky day for sure.
I will report the sighting on that site. Would be awesome if it hung around for a while. I am under the impression they are strictly open water fish that drift the deep seas investigating flotsam. There are some interesting websites out there with all kinds of info on them. They look like a design mistake. Like someone forgot to finish the model and the project somehow got sent into production.:shocked2:

I read they feed on jelly fish. If that is true they are friends of mine.
That is a big fish and it could eat tons of them.

I've spent a few hours underwater in Coz too & until Tony posted I hadn't even heard of them. I think it's a fluke rather than something a few of us will see.

They have been seen before but its very rare. Check with apple at DP she had some photos from an encounter 10 or so years ago. It was the same one I assume we saw in that same time frame off Tormentos but off the wall in deep water. It was on the surface at the time.
