OK so looking at this objectively and being as positive as one can be which way do you think offers the best chance of a sighting?
Go with Tony since he's already seen it (or one) in the area?
Or go with ANYONE ELSE because Tony has had his day?
Cast your vote now, the lines are open & operators are awaiting your call. First prize has absolutely no value other than bragging rights.

I'd love to see one, but I think they are deep, still water fish - feeing on jellies and depending on cleaners living in kelp mats to clean their parasites - from what I have read.

Awwwwwwwwwww, Don! Don't rain on my parade. ;)

Tony's had his day!

Saw a marlin once on a safety stop there. Of course my camera battery had died - but trust me. :D He didn't get close enough for the shot anyway, nor linger long. Would have to have had it on video to get anything.

I think I'd be more scared of a marlin than a shark. :D

Don, you'd never have seen him had your battery been charged! You're the third person I've heard talk of a marlin sighting there. That'd be SOMETHING!

Had the same experience with a big hammerhead in Boynton Beach. Fortunately another boat called about him, so I was vindicated - even without the pix.

He seemed pretty afraid of us, as do the Reef & Sand Tiger sharks I've met so far. The Nurse and Whale sharks I've met ignore me pretty well. I don't want to meet a Bull or Tiger for sure.

Hey, my boat pick bud saw him first and pointed. I had a witness when we got to the boat.

Y'all realize the Dominoes/Whale sharks will be migrating to near Holbox next month? Some may pass thru the Coz channel.

You were reading my mind! Serendipity isn't my middle name for nothing! :doh2:

Go sunfish. It's your big day. We gonna party like it's your big day...........

Woo hoo! Three weeks til sunfish seeking...

Don't know what I'd think if I saw it from a distance. Took me awhile to figure out what an underwater-swimming cormorant was.

Hope hope hope wish wish wish wish...

My sentiments exactly!

We saw a whale shark from a fishing boat about a mile offshore south of Playa del Carmen some years ago. We pulled right along side of it; it was as long as the boat or longer. That was something.
