Are the suites at Suites Bahia studio apartments or do they have a separate kitchen? We like to cook some meals when we travel but I don't care to sleep and live in the same room that I am cooking in.

They aren't really either. The kitchen is not in a separate room, but it isn't a full kitchen making it a studio apartment. The "kitchen" is a microwave, fridge, and a sink.
Our room had them separated from the bed area by a narrow opening in the wall, but no actual door.

Off season you should be able to find them for around $65 all taxes included. When you go to check in... ask the front desk if they have a city view room that offers a view of the ocean. If it's the off season, you may be very surprised with the ocean views some of the city view rooms offer at the city room price!

But this is true of Suites Bahia too- and at half that price. And as you said, some amazing breakfast. (Now if someone says that Casa Mexicana has greatly upgraded beds- that might be worth it. But we found Suites Bahia's beds to be the same as the ones at the Sabor, so we figure it's just how Cozumel does beds.)

You mentioned BEDS... I would say about 2 years ago the Casa Mexicana upgraded all mattresses to soft pillow tops. The old days feeling like you were sleeping on a board are gone at the Casa. Now, the super stiff beds never really bothered me as I got used to them and figured it was good for my back! But those who like the soft beds of the USA, the Casa has them. I only wonder what Mexicans on vacation at the casa think of them! They probably can't sleep on them!
