We will be completing the classroom and confined water dives at the end of this month and will be in the LA area Sept 2-5. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions to complete the open water dives with. Catalina is an option, but anything will work. Thank you for your help!

Of course I'm slightly biased, but I'd stick with Catalina!

Can't get it any easier than shore diving at Catalina's Casino Point. You walk in of the water and you walk out of the water via concrete stairways. The site is also very well protected from wind and current, so you don't have to worry about chops, waves, etc. Not to mention it's very pretty and offers a little bit of everything: sand, rock, kelps. Depth range from OW student's 20-30ft all the way to 100-ft for AOW students.

Thank you everyone for your help. I've watched the video about three times and can't wait to get certified!

+1 @ Casino Pt. Park. I certified many OW & AOW students there when I was teachingnin SoCal.
