Because a lot of people did not prefer it. Our plan is still to include it in a future version as an option but right now I have too much to do to figure out how to do that

I have a question. Is there any way to avoid having to scroll down so far to read the posts. I find it somewhat aggravating.

You can switch your thread viewing options to threaded or hybrid which will show the threads in a much more condensed manner.
