A 29-year-old Anaheim man in an early morning diving class at Crescent Bay Beach ascended too rapidly and lost consciousness Sunday, Aug. 16, police said.
The diver was brought ashore by an instructor about 8:58 a.m. and treated by fire personnel before being transported to nearby El Morro School. The diver, who was not further identified, was then taken by Mercy Air to a hospital for further treatment, Sgt. Tim Kleiser said.

AGE appears to be the issue. So-so conditions (not bad for experienced beach diver but not the best for a newbie)->Panic->inflator->fast flight to surface from 40' or less. After hitting the surface appeared disoriented then went unresponsive and limp. This is from witnesses.
