You guys still planning on going?

so if someone could give me call on my cell 508-854-4979 if the dive is off, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Scott

correct number is 508-735-4979. Having home and cell #'s so close can be pain sometimes.

Hot tip: Taking a bag full of short, illegal lobsters with NO license doesn't impress anyone and only pisses them off. Saying "I'll measure them when I throw their shells in the trash" while you and your buddy laugh doesn't impress anyone either! It's a good ****ing thing I wasn't buddied with you and your buddy should be ashamed too! I have more respect for the drug addicts with AIDS and Hep-C that I have treated than I do for you. My first time ever diving South of MA and likely my last. Not only were your attitude and actions disgusting, the fact that the others in the group thought it was fine is unnbelievable. Do us ethical bug divers a favor. Stay the **** away from MA!

On the upside, my buddy was great and he did not take any lobsters because he didn't have a license. There is at least one good guy in CT I guess.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience decapod (from a CT diver who doesn't take shorts!) We're not all bad, but you do get a bunch of losers once in a while. If you got any names, license plates, etc., at the very least you can send a heads up letter to the Stonington Police (I believe) and the CT Department of Environmental Protection in Hartford.

Gave PD and EP the license plate number and description of the pick-up truck/ divers. Absolutely no reason for what they did. I wish I had the phone numbers last night :censored:

Lovely. :no
A friend of mine on Rockport was just thrown into the slammah last week because he left his brass gauge on the boat and brought up a short lobster to measure it.
People get shot for less! Not only were these people icky, but they were risking their lives! I was almost disemboweled last summer in Stonington for just diving down to someone's trap with a snorkel to have a peek.

Only takes a few a-holes to spoil the reputation of a whole group. :knob: There's no fun in hunting(bugs, deer, whatever) if you can't follow the rules. I understand your well-placed anger. I don't even take legal-sized lobstahs unless they're just right....no one-clawed bugs, too soon after they molt, etc!

Keep the faith and continue to do the right thing.

Actually, that gives me an idea to keep the whichever-state-I'm-diving-in Environmental Enforcement's number (and if I remember to look it up before, the local PD's number) handy, probably on my SAD box.

but it's sorta sad to think that we need to plan ahead so we can report our fellow divers.

The real kicker is that the guy who did this was complaining pre-dive that he hates diving up here. Obviously not enough to stop being a complete jerk and low-life thief. The PD was pretty ticked when I called them so hopefully he'll get caught.
