Planning on buying worthington x7-hp100 tanks;one of the options is convertible 200 bar which is standard or optional 300 bar ($15 more).Whats the difference and why does one need this option? Thanks for the help?

Another vote for convertible valve. Easier to get filled. If/when you decide you need the extra, extra security of 300 bar DIN you can get the new valve, or more likely your new doubles manifold will come with 300 bar DIN. :D

Cheers,
VI

DIR and the GUE divers use the 300 din valve on their doubles. It is a bit stronger.

For most people the yoke/200 din is the most versatile configuration. You just use an allen wrench and convert to either yoke or 200 din in seconds.

200 bar is all you need and allows you to connect either a 200 bar or 300 bar device.

200 convertible is the ticket.

Remember that the threads of the insert are not water sealed. Salt deposits will build up in there and interfere with the threads. Be sure to remove and clean the valve and insert threads from time to time.
