A couple of people I know have tried the zero to hero classes, but nobody has passed all the way to Full in the first go round yet.
Actually, a couple folks you know did (Scott and Ben) ... but I couldn't quite make it.

It's not the skills that'll set you back ... it's the decision-making. I was really disappointed with myself for only making it through Apprentice on the first try ... but in hindsight, taking that week in November to get in 15 dives at that level before moving on to Full Cave really had some benefit.

Ohh you guys just didn't choose the right instructor. These basic skills you speak of are completely unnecessary to get a full cave card! The key is head to N. FL, find a burned out instructor who's only in it for the money and wave $1000 in their face.

If anyone's interested, paypal me a $50 finders fee and I'll suggest some instructors :D

I did intro to cave in two sessions. It was good for me because I wanted to take it easy. After the first part I enjoyed many dives with my instructor in a kind of practicing way. The following year I completed my certification and we did some more training dives. Some of those were of a more advanced level than intro and did well to prepare me to doing my full cave next time around.

I did the opposite of the "zero to hero" in a week.

More like "zero to two and a half" in a week.:)

Take your time, enjoy the training as you progress.

Seriously TSandM - I take your comments in the spirit they are intended. And thank you for that.

Not looking forward to getting into 10mm of neoprene in the middle of the Mexican jungle.

I didn't look forward to it in February, let alone JULY!

Finally finished last night at 8pm.

It was emotional, but a hell of a ride. Great instructor who go the point across in a very direct and effective way.

I had a few problems at the beginning with trim as I wasn't used to doubles, we knocked that out the park on day two and then it was day-by-day incremental progress. Because we were doing the full cave course, we started off on doubles and the way we were to dive from day one which helped further down the line.

It was a tough course, I'm tired, but elated. We've been through some tough, long days but the final dive we did yesterday really wrapped it all up and was the cherry on top of the cake.

What an amazing adventure and experience. I feel privileged.

Day off today then we're going back for a dive tomorrow.

Love it.

Congratulations! Where did you do your final dive?

Oh, I really like Minotauro. Did you have someone watching the car?
