I am not sure how much is from the SS buckles. My guess is at least half is from the webbing and pads. The difference between SS vs plastic hardware is a few oz only. But I don’t have plastic buckle camband for comparison

Having they said. I just return from a Hawaii trip with family and I squeeze some diving in. The heavies components seems to be the fins. I have oms slip with spring straps. I wonder if I can do better in weight and color. I want lighter weight and more visible fins. Maybe I open another thread for this.

I don't have an SS camband for comparison, but XS Scuba "glass-filled" plastic buckles aren't that light. Last pair I bought has smaller and flimsier buckles and I wouldn't be surprised if they're within a couple of ounces of SS ones. I'm expect the older bigger version is.
