770link770, treating it as a cave dive would then require him to run a line from open water (the rocks in this case) across the channel. That would be more difficult and more dangerous than just using his training and carrying a flag (although he suggests that very thing in the first post.) I disagree with copter's assessment that he'd never need to surface in the channel since he starts the thread with no idea how much air he'd need. Every plan except the one that included the ferry has fail written all over it -- some have Accidents & Incident Forum written on them.
