My rubber strap broke again on my Dacor Tigers, and I'm thinking of switching to spring straps.
Has anyone found spring straps that attach without modification to the fin.
The XSScuba brand (that include various buckles) require filing down a key on the fin posts which would make the original ABS buckles useless.
Furthermore the XSscuba large post buckle has a locking screw pin that is installed after the buckle is attach to the fin. The pin should prevent the post from sliping into the larger of the two holes on the buckle. However the pin is too high on the buckle, allowing the post to readily slip underneath the pin and the buckle to detach from the fin.
I could imagine the spring would make the fins negative buoyant as there are now slightly positive.
