I stay warm at 72 in a 3mm full suit or 7mm shorty..
I have dived with smallish girls that stay warm at 72 in 7mm.

Lots of fun, and the dive boats are less populated!

More for me, Whee!

If I remember right, Back when we spring breaked in Fl, you wouldnt want to do any diving!

With the Gulf it's hard to say. Off Panama City I have seen is as low as the mid 50's as late as mid April. I have seen winters where it never got below 70 all winter long.
I believe we will have a warmer, wetter winter than usual this year, and that the Spring break water temps in the panhandle will be in the high 60's - low 70's.
But I wouldn't bet on it.

I dove out of Pensacola late March of 2002, and you needed more than a 3 mm, the water was either in the high 50's or low 60's, I had contracted a cold beforehand, so needless to say i wasn't feeling too good upon getting back on the boat, but the area had been having freezing spells during that time period, so pack the full load if ya got it.

There was one native with us diving in a 3mm, and he aborted his second dive because he was freezing his ass off.......and I mean this guy was blue!

But be sure and do the rigs if you have the chance.
