1. Plenty of reports on taxi scam at Phuket Airport. Be careful.
2. Phuket airport is NOT a place to change money. I use NC Plus in Phuket Old Town but that is another story. New crispy US$50.00/100.00 bill(no marking) gives the best rate.

My wife and I just did Phinisi live aboard out of Phuket in February of 2024. The diving was amazing, you really have to enjoy Thai food, most of the food was local cuisine. Very cool wood boat. I would recommend! W stayed in Bangkok for a few days prior flying to Phuket to board the boat. The live aboard arranged transport to the boat for us.

I have done the Diverace liveaboard 6 times. Very good liveaboard and very good crew. The trips are 5 days 4 nights with 14 dives. They pick you up in phuket and drive up to to koh lak. In phuket you can work as the internet connections are pretty good. here is my website with pictures and video.
