I'm going to do a lot of diving on aruba for a period of around 3 months, and was wondering if I can also train my kendo during that period. I know doing heavy exercises after diving is a bad idea, but does this mean i can't train at all when diving regularly (i.e. several times/week) ? On another board i got the advise to wait till my no-fly time was over before training (e.g. wait 24 hours), but that will probably mean no training for me. Moreover: how reliable is this 24 hour-period when doing this amount of diving?

Safety comes before diving or kendo, and if this means i can't train then i won't. Any advice?

DAN says no working out 4 hrs before a dive to be safe, but ive heard others that say you can workout up to a few minutes before a dive, just read a study with rats that exercised 20-30 min before a dive with no extra bubble formation, but id say anything outside of DAN maybe risky, depends on your condition, age, etc...the consensus is before diving is ok, after diving wait 6 hrs.

Yeah, I've seen 4 hours mentioned - for exercise, hot tubs, such. 6 is just better.

Do deep stops, safety stops, very slow ascent from safety stop, float on surface for 2 minutes before boarding. It'll all help.
