I dove Halibut Point this past saturday and speared a 20 pounds Monkfish. This is the first Monkfish I've seen in this area and I wasn't about to let that meal get away.
If you want to see the pictures email me xjeslesx@hotmail.com

Jes,

We missed you last Fri at OGB.

Definately want to see pic. Anyway can upload to photos section. Sent email to send a pic.

A friend of mine (diver and free diver) who is new to area and a hard core spear fisherman has been trying to get me to go out with him. He's more a free diver. Since gaining a tire around my waist, my free diving days are over. I spend too much air getting down, by the time I'm down, got to bob up.

Did you catch this free diving or on Scuba?

I have never seen one in area either. They usually stick to deeper water 200+ ft, but they do come into the shallows occationally. Very intimidating.

Hope you save the cheek meat. They are supposed to be good eats.

Halibut point is quite the popular spot based on recent posts.
