Hi guys

As my children are now at diving age I pulled my gear out from storage and headed to the LDS for servicing. I think a few bits of gear can be repaired if I can find the right parts. I’m hoping for some quick pointers before I start contacting the manufacturers.

1/. USD/Aqua Lung Conshelf 22 Second stage. “Part 21 ---- 100324 Plug” in the aqualung_spare_parts_catalog_2006.pdf page 32. This is the plug that goes in the LP inlet port which isn’t used.

Catalog implies the parts are interchangeable with “Pioneer l Aquarius l SEA4 l SE3 l Conshelf 22 l Octopus l SQ XR Series”

Question: Is this part still available? If not I have a plan to repair the plug with glue and screw.

2/. USD/Aqua Lung Titan Octopus Second stage (1998-2004) “Part 1 ----- 124577 Front Cover, Octopus/Partner” in the aqualung_spare_parts_catalog_2006.pdf page 23

Cover has disintegrated, but regulator has been serviced.

Question: Is this part still available? Which models can I substitute the front cover from: Titan, XLC, Calypso, Glacia or other pre 2004 models? I have 3 other pre 2004 Titan, XLC and Titan Octopus regs.

3/. Unknown Isolation Manifold (1990s?)

During servicing the end of the isolation valve snapped off inside socket. If they cant extract it I need a new isolation bar. Not a problem except there are no markings on the manifold or tank valves, and the threads on the tank valves don’t match their stock so I’d also need 2 new valves which they serviced just before this happened.

What are the chances of finding a replacement bar? Are manifold threads reasonably standardized?

Using my bands the valves for the isolation bar are ~75mm apart.

Id really appreciate any tips and tricks.

Photos seem to be linked via 'my media' and attachments - let me know if they dont come across.

the isolation manifold - that appears to be the valve seat, and the wing operator has snapped.

The port plug is not available from AL but Bryan at Vintage Double Hose had some generic replacements made a while back. Also, it you don't mind not using the retainer clip....and IMO it's not necessary, you can just use a 1/2 (a little uncommon but they do exist) port plug from a reg.

Given how firmly the boxtop screws on, I was thinking a bit of Loctite would suffice... if necessary. Ill check with Bryan.

Thanks for the lead.

NO!!! No locking compound of any kind. just snug it up. The vast majority of second stages do not have locking clips of any kind so I really don't see the need on this one. This is a plastic to silicone interface so the friction is pretty good on it's own.

the octo cover was discontinued, you will have to find NOS. I don't think any aftermarket replacements are available yet.

i would just look for a replacement isolator from someone who plugged a manifold for sidemount. it looks like you have the old dive rite/sea elite style which should have pretty good cross compatibility.

Can I confirm how many different manifold threads standards were around back in the 90's? What were they?

Mine are approx 17mm diameter. "3/8" or "1/2"?
