Sorry, but there isn't a reg in the world that is 'freeflow proof'. I've seen Apex regs freeflow just like ScubaPros and other brands... They're both high quality regs, but like everything else in the world, sometimes things just happen. I know it's a majority here that are Apeks fans, and for good reason...they make a quality regulator...but I'm sure they will back me up on this.

I had to specify that i m talking about freeflows due to first stage freezing...
Apexs first stage is sealed, means no water inside the first stage----no ice can form in the first stage....
i ve seen some mk20 freezee and freeflow in cold water... in my experience Apexs is much better for cold water, sure the mk20 is a very good regulator too, nothing against it, but Apexs seem bombproof to me... maybe I am wrong, but my next regulator will be an Apexs...or maybe a Poseidon x-stream :bang:

ScubaPro:
good:reliabable, well made reg.
bad: expensive

Apeks
good:reliable, well made reg.
bad: ?

Apeks is cheaper at www.diveinn.com

Skip the "parts for life" crap, by at DiveInn.com and put the rest of the money into a backplate and harness.

I have had mine now almost a year and love it. It breaths very easy and is very simple to service.....
