Which one do you think is preferable as an octopus? They are similar in price, 380 30.00 more than 190. Any major differences?

I have the r380 as an octo too. It's the same reg as the 190 but smaller.

It is smaller than the 190...just like jiveturkey says..

other than the diaphram, which is "flatter" in the R190 and "more peaked" in the R380. This is how they get the smaller (diameter) case on the R380.

In terms of the actual internal "guts", they're the same. Same overhaul kits, etc.

I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money for the R380. I am sure my LDS is happy about it. I think for the few extra dollars the smaller size is nice. Thats the same reason I went with the S600 over the G250. Besides, I feel a whole lot more confident about the R380 than the Aqua Lung LPO the LDS was kind of pushing.

yup, just got my R380. i too debated between the R190 and the R380 but for a difference of $10 ...
