Sony TRV900 repair facility

I have a Sony TRV900 with a damaged tape transport, tape keeps getting eaten up. I dropped it off at the local repair shop, they replaced about 3 different parts, and after about two months they gave up. Can anyone suggest a reputable repair facility?

There's a guy on ebay that I've heard about; never used him myself but have heard good things about him: REPAIR Service for SONY DCR TRV900
We've swapped emails before; the guy recommended I junk the camera & declined to take my $$.
I tend to trust someone like that.

I'm sorry that I didn't see your post earlier or I would have replied to it. I'm sorry that you had problems with that other repair shop I unfortunately hear that story all too often. The problem with a lot of shops are the lack of experience on a certain model. (They may only see a couple of those camcorders a year.) We work on them everyday. I hope that you were able to get your problem with your camcorder resolved to your satisfaction. I have a Sony VX-2000 camera I use for my boat surface camera that has a maddening little spec of dust inside the lens. It doesn't show up until I point into light or hold closer focus, which seems to happen a LOT when I use it.

Is it fixable without a sizeable investment?
