Solving Mask/Mustache issue?

Alright, for all you that dive with a mustache how do you get your mask to seal right? It seems I can never really get a good seal with my mustache and I really don't want to shave it everytime I go dive..... and I'm now an expert at clearing....

Any suggestions?

I shave a bit under my nose. Just enough to let it seal. I don't keep it shaved, just do it the night before a dive day.

If you look close you can tell a bit where I shaved. It doesn't take much, about as much area as the head of the razor covers up.

trim a little or try out different mask. I have one mask that seal fine with a full bushy mustache. But other that I have to pretty much shave clean.

(1) Yep, it could well be your mask. But if shaving the lower part solves the leak, then it's not.

(2) But I usually use silicone grease. Smear some on, let it dry a bit maybe, then don the mask. May have to clean the skirt of your mask a little better now and then.

I have a beard & mustache similar ro Wayaerd Sons, never had a problem, never sany specila shaving...try a different mask.

The owner of our LDS recommends, if you don't want to shave, using moustache wax or KY jelly.

I've always had pretty good luck with silicone grease applied to the moustache - you just have to remember to put the grease on, or it doesn't work as well...
