Got my rezzies for Pt Lobos on Friday. We'll be there Friday morning for a couple of dives.

I'm still looking for a night dive Friday night - any ideas?

Saturday is looking like a boat dive - likely Monterey Express or one of the others. Anyone open to joining in? Shaka, whats on the menu for your NorCal tour?

Sunday is the Aquarium.

Happy Birfday to me!

Hope to dive with some of the NorCal creu.

Great dive with Ken (Mo2Vation), his wife Jaye and Jason (Darkpup) at Poitn Lobos. Huge swell but a surprisingly good dive anyway. Surgy but not too bad and actually kinda fun. We had a four diver team in formation...very cool. We saw a HUGE Sheephead and lots of other fishies hidding in various nooks and crannies. Cool dive great time.

Also, we met up with Dan (WlieEDiver) at Gianni's.....great pizza. Finished the day off with some fills at Manta Ray, came home and my brand new Halcyon SPG came in the mail from Extreme Exposure....I waited two months for that....good day! :)

Its only one of the finest aquariums in the country.

Lots of very cool stuff - local stuff from the amazing Monterey Channel (OK, Archman - jump in now and tell us all why the Monterey Deepwater Channel rules). The jellies are just unreal. The big tank, in addition to its giant tuna, sharks and other fishies now has a "baby" GWS in it... very cool.

Lots of neat stuff for kids (if you're into that) and just a great hang.

Its funny - the last time I was there was about 6 years ago before I was diving. I was all oooh and aaahh and I remember the 2 (or is it 3) story Kelp exhibit.

Now that I dive in the kelp every week, I look at it and I see that while the fishies in the exhibit are doing fine, the kelp not so much (OK Arch, jump in and tell us why Kelp doesn't keep well in captivity....) I mean, if I saw Kelp like that in the bays and harbors and islands I dive, I'd be seriously worried. Its just not vibrant and healthy.

You know how you can tell when a plant needs to be watered? It just looks tired, and isn't bright, and hydrated, and, well, full of life? Kelp in the exhibit just looks like it needs a vitamin shot.

Its a great aquarium. If you're in the west coast in NoCal, its a must see.
