Undersuit pocket works for me.

I keep a remote in a pocket in my drysuit undergarment. That way I can lock the car when I'm done gearing up and unlock it as I'm approaching the parking lot after the dive.

I used to worry what would happen if I flooded the suit ... but then one day I forgot to take the remote out of my pocket when I washed the undergarment. To my surprise it still worked fine after going thru the wash cycle. So I figure a little flooding probably won't hurt it ...

If I'm diving without the yak, then it goes in the pocket, in my wet suit. If I'm diving from my kayak, then it goes in the dry bag, on board the yak. I'd be nervous about putting it around my neck for fear the chain would break. I'm known for losing keys!

Key goes in my dry suit undergarment pocket, or clipped to the BC D ring when diving a wetsuit. Electronic gadgets get locked inside the car.

I have forgotten to take the electronics off once or twice, and couldn't start the car once due to salt corrosion on the anti theft keyfob circuit board, after cleaning that up I leave it in the car from now on.

You know I used to have this problem, yet another thing that a drysuit has solved for me. They really are wonderful you know!

I zip it up in one of those cheap waterproof pouches, if not a ziplock and put it in my BC pocket. I dive with my spares though, that don't have the battery in it.

You can take the normal plane old metal key and shove it up into your wetsuit from the leg cuff up into the lower leg area, I prefer the outside of my leg. Your legging is tight enough (or should be) that it wont fall out and you cant tell its there. I did this for years while surfing which is way more violent then diving. You just roll up your leg of your wetsuit about 4 inches shove the key in and roll your leg back down and viola! Btw leave the rest of your keys in the car and take the key itself only.

Just a thought, but I wouldn't want my only remote in my drysuit pocket. If I have a major suit flood, I'm going to certainly want to get back in my vehicle. If I also have a hard key (and, if necessary, a spare remote in the car to silence the alarm and let me drive home), having another remote in my pocket sounds like a great idea.

I probably gave a different answer on one of the earlier threads on this subject, but lately I've been attaching my car key to a D-ring on my rig. My key ring is one of those simple round split rings. So far so good. I have an old car with a simple key. My drysuit cost about twice what I paid for my car. All you people with fancy new cars with electronic keys, where are your priorities! Or, golf carts, as the case may be!
