After a lot of consideration and back-and-forth, I went with a kind of a kit rather than one, relatively expensive knife. I still like the Benchmade 112 a lot and may get one someday, but for now, I'll be diving with a Dive-Rite thigh pouch, a Trilobite line cutter and a UK Fusilier knife (about the same size as the 112 and a similar blade profile) - all for about the same price as the 112. In the end, the fact I'm a new diver coupled with the fact I'm landlocked in Denver played really heavily into the decision to try to make my Scuba funds stretch a bit.
I'd be interested to hear any thoughts on the Fusilier.
I wasn't able to clean as well where the blade goes into the rubber handle. There is some small amount of rust there, though some of that is rust that has been wiped off the blade and stuck to the handle. There is also a little bit of salt accumulated there. It's just really hard to clean that area!
