Only time I had to remove my mask to clear snot away was when I had this huge glob over my right eye and it was difficult to focus whilst taking photos.

... or discretely tell your dive buddy to smile, snap off a photo, and then explain that you were documenting evidence of nudibranch smuggling ... :D

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

:rofl3: Bob.... :rofl3: :D

op, can you usually do the snot snort? as in, can you make that disgusting deep noise & get the snot wad into your mouth instead of coming out your nose? if you can, do that & just spit it out, either by taking the reg out or...not. that's harder for me (mentally) to do, because i'm in love with my reg tech & don't want him to find such presents, but eh.

BabyDuck... LOL - the snot snort... yes. i just don't see how it's possible though, to nose-snort, with so little snortable air in my face mask. I guess that's my original question.... anyone???

Have you ever seen a reg opened up after a year of diving? I don't think your reg tech is going to be shocked.

no, you suck from your mouth, not by sucking air in your nose. sorta like clicking your tongue far back.

searcaigh, i'm scared to find out if he loves me that much. ;)

A most enjoyable read.

I spent many many years in pediatrics, so have been privy to more snot discussions than you can imagine. Snot is one of the better body fluids to have running down your face in my estimation. Little kids and snot are kind of funny really. But over time, snot became pretty blase and boring and so I now give it little thought when I am diving.

Thanks all for bringing the joy of snot back to me.

After the snot string my son had last summer, I am going to start carrying a tape measure and camera on all dives. I'm not sure what the world record length is, but I'm sure he came close. Wiped, outstretched arm, re-wiped, re-outstretched arm...intact snot string! Twice the length of his arm. While I was proud of this accomplishment, I was even happier that he was able to equalize much better the rest of the day...Blow it out!
