+1 for NeillMed. Can add Budesonide (topical steriod) to rinse mix and helps control polyps.
I think that when you start proposing adding steroids to nasal irrigation, you're crossing the line into stupid and dangerous advice.

Topical steroids aren't the same as the ones you ingest.

True...but steroids in nasal passages do get absorbed into blood stream and also drain into throat....bottom line is that in these small amounts MAY NOT make a difference.....just my opinion  Like Flonase they are still corticosteroids...

How do you know that it’s a small amount? I agree with you of course but advising people to add steroids to a nasal rinse solution is just bad advice.

I agree the Neilmed is the way to go on a trip but for me in the comfort of home nothing beats 3-4 minutes of flow from a machine 😎

To be clear I am not a proponent of using any steroid, for a variety of reasons, but the physician that removed a polyp blocking my right front sinus said that the amount of steroid in for example Flonase was very small...again, I do not use Flonase and only use irrigation and then only sparingly....not all mucus in nasal passages should be removed as well as the cillia...anyway...to each their own...your body your choice....

Think what you want. Prescribed by diving ENT. Where did you go to med school?

Ouch! His opinion not a prescription........hey, we all think what we want, right or wrong....no bigee.
I meant my prescription was written by diving ENT who is definitely not “a stupid or dangerous” guy.

This is off-label for topical budesonide but if your ENT prescribed it and gave you specific dosing instructions for a particular indication then I would defer to him or her. Blanket advice to do this isn't clinically appropriate. It's not available OTC so it would be difficult for someone to do anyway. But, possibly a conversation starter with a provider for someone with a similar condition.
