duh... cut your hair

:eyebrow:

Common problem--just bring scissors.

3 choices.
1. Cut hair
2. Ditch Snorkel
3. Wear hood type apperal.

I would just buy a new snorkel, but I'm cheap and I reallylike the one I have. My mom bought some snorkels for my brothers that look nicer, I borrowed one and put it on my mask, there was no way I could clear the thing! The purge sucked and I could never get it dry inside!!!! I was ready to burn the thing after twominutes of use! I love my snorkel! My brothers are the ones that broke it. I left my gear on the table on the back porch to dry and asked them not to touch it. I come out later and half of it is strewn around the pool and the clip was broken. Thanks brothers, I appreciate it.

I actually have seen a neoprene thingy, anyone have any experince with those?

I don't see why they sell these rubber ones, it's just horrid how much it hurt when I used it! I think for the moment, I'll ditch the snorkel. :( Like I said, I like my snorkel!

The neoprene snorkel keepers do their job well. You should be able to pick one up at most dive shops, and they definitely have them online. I don't know if you can get snorkel clips, but I ought to look sometime. The rubbery snorkel keepers are for bald people on Discover SCUBA dives. :)

(Incidentally, I had a snorkel with a purge valve that wasn't great at clearing. I finally developed a habit of reaching up and covering the open end while purging it out the valve, which let me blow out the water that always stayed in the purge well. Not ideal, but it worked.)

Although my hair is not very long, I dive with a hood, which works out good. I'm also considering getting a pocket snorkel, which I hear is nice to use as well.
