Now... about those sneezes... any more stories? ;)

Oh yes.. a sneeze so good I thought I'd warhammered, or whalehammered, in my speedo! My mask was a tussle on my face and it took a few moments to reorient. Saddly, no snot was dangling around my face for fish to pick at. :)

Colin, Colin, Colin....
:rofl3: That's just plain funny.... sneezing and having to do a buttcheek check :mooner: to be sure you didn't warhammer! LOL :rofl3: Depending on where you were... it was prolly a good thing that fish weren't swarming your nose... or were they more interested in the :mooner: ! LOL :rofl3:

shaka dog - i always feel the need to blow my nose before i come up but havent quite figured it out. im not sure how ive gotten this far without figuring it out. can you enlighten us please? i hate surfacing with a mask full of goo. thanks!

1. Take off your mask.

2. Blow your nose just like you do when you're not diving except you don't need a hankie.

3. Put your mask back on and clear it.

This task should be taught in basic OW class along with the mask removal and replacment drills

My luck, I'd take in a snoot full of water after the "blowing" part! Then I'd have a terrible underwater choking incident... and eventually get it all cleared up and continue my dive. The main problem with that would be convincing my buddy that I am ok while choking.

I did choke really bad underwater one time, and Rod was watching me cough hard and hold my reg in, and face turning colors, etc. He looked at me and gave the thumbs up sign... thinking that I really needed to surface. I shook my head no, and giving the ok... a really loooong ok sign, and our "just a minute" sign, and he soon realized that I just needed a second to gather myself and all was fine. After the dive, he said that it scared him to see me choke like that, but I was ok... I just didn't want to spit my reg out in the middle of it. I was kinda "concerning" for a moment, but in the end... not that big of deal. I felt good that I could deal with it and move on.

Any more gooey stories out there? LOL

Why yes, I had a student how had a bit of a dodgy tummy and ended up doing a warhammer in his suit instead of the mask replacement excercise!!!

Luck has nothing to do with it. You've either mastered no mask breathing or you haven't. If you have, this is a snap. If you haven't, practice until you do.

Oh the dreaded nasal fish bait!! BTDT and it wasn't pretty, but the fish found them interesting.

No worries, Walter...... mark my word.... I'll NEVER even think about that!:D

or you would never admit it anyway ;):D

and what's the subject? oh, yeah, sneezing. Yeah, I do it occasionaly. Never had a serie like i do at the surface though (sneezing 15-20 times in a row).
