I am looking for the Coustau DVD Silent world which shows how he did things in the old days. Anyone who knows where it can be bought un the US?

I just picked one up on e-bay...

Was going to recommend looking there myself.

Gee, I ought to get a copy and give it a second look so many decades later. Hmmm.. I'd better outbid Jonas Isaksen!!

yeah, ebay is about the only place

it's no longer "in print" or whatever you call the movie version of that. anyway, i've looked and looked for it, so if you find a place that sells them, i'd like to know too

I remember watching his documentaries as a child, and I thought I would get a kick out of it to see them now.

To say I was kinda surprised to see dynamite used for a fish census, the killing of a baby whale (granted, to put it out of it's misery) and the needless slaughter of countless Oceanic White tips (my favorite sharks) as a gross understatement.

But hey, it was a different time, think about all the good that came out of that documentary and other aspects of Cousteau's work.

yeah, it definetely was a different time
