I'm a big fan of the military-style survival mirror, but don't really like the idea of packing my glass one on dives. So I've been wanting to get an 'unbreakable' one.
So today I was at a local Sportsman's Warehouse and found one called the 'Rescue Flash', made by Adventure Medical Kits, for $6.50.
At 2" X 3" it's smaller than even my 'small' mil-spec glass mirror. I plan to do some side-by-side comparisons of the two to see just how much better the larger glass mirror is, and I'll try to post my findings here.
Unfortunately, it's overcast and raining right now.
Bonus feature: it has a lanyard hole in one corner. And since one dimension is 2", it should be easy enough to store under a chunk of bicycle tube on my 2" harness.
The sink test results are in: It's negative in fresh water. Good thing it has that lanyard hole.
