I love the slipper lobsters. My favorite. I think they are much better than their cousings. They also don't have that thin layer of tought skin like their cousin the spineys.

I've found them both day and night but always up under a ledge...

Spiny's don't have a thin layer of tough skin, that's just residue from the coffee pot you boil your's in.:rofl3:

I caught this one diving out of PCB

I'd still love to know the first person that looked at these buggers and said "mmmm, I'll bet they're tasty!" :D

Ugly thangs for sure!

I've never seen any in the wild, but there used to be one in the tanks at the Conch Farm (Conch Republic Seafood Co.) in Key West...I'll have to remember to check under ledges with my light.

They blend in real well when hanging upside down under ledges, they have little purple antennae that can give them away at times.

We saw one right out in the open, during the day, when diving off Islamorada the last week of February. I had never heard of them before.

It's all fun and games until they wrap their legs around your face and start laying eggs down your throat

Perfect-We rented out Rod's boat for the 4th, good group of 6 of us going.

They get measured the same way as spiny's?
