Shorty over wetsuit

Will a shorty worn over a 3mm wetsuit provide additional warmth?

I will be traveling shortly. One destination warrants a 3mm suit, which I intend to bring. The other may be a bit cool for just 3mm. However, I don't have a 5mm and I'm not really apt to also bring a 7mm (of if I had one a 5mm, too). Will putting the shorty over the 3mm add warmth?

Bring a dry suit. Layer accordingly.

Yeah, sure it will ...... I do this frequently. After diving several days in a 3 mil and the chill gets to me I will layer a shorty over the full suit.
