I think most people don't dive that much or long with breaks in between and dive shops rotate theirs out
Looks a bit like a beautiful woman, and then you notice the tattoo of the head of something on her thigh

If you've had a tank for 20 years, that's not just a thigh tattoo, that's a full leg sleeve at that point.

As of the afternoon of 3-Dec-2024, Dive Gear Express has received a small quantity of HP100 steel cylinders in hot dip galvanized finish. We expect these will sell out very quickly, although other retailers may also receive a small allotment. Currently the best information we have is that once these are gone, steel cylinders will no longer be available from Faber in a hot dip galvanized finish, and that going forward will only be available in a spray galvanized and epoxy painted finish.

Going .... going ... before long, NEW HDG HP100s will be GONE. IF you need any more, get them now!!

I'm tempted, but with 2 Faber and 4 Worthington HDG HP100s, I really don't need any more.

Oh noes, OC tek is ded 🥹

Enjoy CCRs with painted steels that never seem to rust out (and can be easily lightly sanded and spot painted with enamel)

Are people leaving new hydro stamps unpainted? Gross
Even a couple little shots of rustoleum can work

On mine the hydro shop frequently, but not always, covers the stamp with rustoleum or some similar paint. On those stamps that are not painted, the stamp doesn't go down to bare metal. I have many hydro stamps across my HDG HP100s as some are over 15 years old. Not a single stamp is rusting. The benefit of the HDG finish is that it is self-healing for lack of a better word.

My Faber LP95s and lone painted HP100 had machinist’s blue on the hydro stamps. I paint over them with Rust-Oleum.

Shoot. No bueno. The quality of cylinder available brand new is going down....

Does anyone know why Faber is discontinuing them?

PST / Worthington > HDG Faber > Painted Faber IMO
