Something else appears to be going on, if a new spring, plus two shims, plus knob in all the way only yields 1.1". But I have no idea what it could be, unless it's one of those "Aww, nuts!" discoveries of a missing, misplaced or damaged part.

Followed the manuals tuning procedure, verified all parts in place are correct. Replaced spring 3rd time, again adjusted the crazy tuning sleeve according to manual. Passes 2nd stage tuning procedures, but fails “test bench specifications” OE no greater than 1.5… no minimum given.

Could the BC be failing ie leaking during dynamic inhalation??
