Hello!
I would like to ask if the moisture retention system indeed work!
I want to get a new regulator not because the one i have isn't good but because of this annoying feeling of dry mouth!
I found out that only sherwood oasis have that moisture feature and apollo biofilter which requires "a lot of maintenance" after each dive
Thank you!

It does work. Do not expect a spray of water, but I can tell a difference comfort wise. However, I prefer the Sherwood Oasis from the 1980's and early 90's. I think that their performance is better than the newer ones. Might find one on e-bay.

Yes the function does work but it's a incremental step. Step one must be ample pre-dive hydration.

Both Scubapro and Mares produce all metal 2nd-stages, which would probably be of more benefit than a still mostly plastic Sherwood 2nd-stage reg.

My wife has a sjogrens syndrom - a drying of the entire body. Mouth, eyes etc. Anyway... the bio-filter we found was a drag to clean and maintain and monitor for leaks at depth. The Oasis reg she loves - its a new one. Sometimes even too much mosture. Dove a IST and Atomic before it.
Good so far to 130'

My english are not so good! So you say that your wife is satisfied with oasis regulator?

Sometimes even too much mosture.

I can't imagine the return from that condenser fin to be even noticeable, let alone supporting an observation of almost too much. Are you sure the exhaust valve isn't leaking or the mouth piece zip tie loose?

A friend of mine borrowed one of my Sherwood Oasis regs while his was being serviced. He is an Aqualung reg user. He commented at the end of the dive that the second stage may be breathing wet - very slightly so, but he noticed something. I checked it and all was well - no exhaust or mouthpiece tie issues. The second dive he commented that maybe it was just moisture retention vanes. He said there was no real water in the second stage, but that it seemed to retain a bit of moisture.

miker-er and spectrum. as diveprof says it does appear to " breath wet " and yes she loves the reg. A simple purge seams to clear it when it gets that way.
The bio- filter if you are still considering was a drag. I remember it leaking after checking and rechecking during a deep dive. Did'nt cause us to call the dive but was very distracting and unsettling !!!
