Hi all,

I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to run a sherwood blizzard in a temperate/tropical climate like the panhandle of florida? are there any down sides to using a cold water reg in conditions of 60-85*F? I found one for sale and was looking to pick up another reg. Thank you!

No downside that I can think/Heard of, typical Cold water regs are "overbuilt", sealed and have lower IP to help prevent freezing up. this would not cause a problem in warm water.

I used my Legend LX Supreme in Florida and Bonaire without any problems.

Regards

Kun

No issues, I have used old Blizzards and bruts and have gone from an ice dive one day to diving aruba 3 days later with the same regs. :D

ok, way cool.

now another question on this reg, is it a dependable reg? im guessing so since its built for the extremes of cold water diving, but just want others opinions.

The Blizzard is a bulletproof design that will serve well in all environments. It will not have the breathing characteristics of a high end regulator, but it will be more than adequate (I have several that I use for stages and such).

The Blizzard would most likely enjoy the warm bath. Assuming it's been properly maintained, you're good to go. Have fun!
