I purchased a Sherwood Axis BC in November and have put probably 10 - 15 dives on the thing and love it.

That being said I'm putting in an order of misc. gear soon and am looking for knife that is compatible with the BC.

Does anyone have any recommendations and how can I tell from the specs if a particular knife will fit?

Thanks in advice.

Well, I'm not to familiar with the BC, but I just pulled up a picture.

Seems to me the best place would be on the waist strap, (close to center) where you can easily reach it with either hand. You would be surprised at how many economical knives you can find which may be attached to 1 1/2 to 2 " webbing without unthreading. I have a few I purchased for $5.00 to $7.00.

I'll see if I can post a link.

Here!

By 5 for the price of 1!

The slot on the sheath unscrews and can go anywhere.

Buy Scuba titanium bc knife KN-100TI with reviews at scuba.com

Whoa!!!!

just saw they are titanium with an "add" of $7.90.

I bought a handfull of steel for < $7.90. Scubatoys had 'em for like 5 bucks. I don't even see a price here.

Sorry All.

There is actually a knife pocket/sleeve I was hoping to use just to keep it out of the way (just what I prefer).

Brother, I don't know if you saw my edit.

The ones I linked are $40.00. You can do a lot better than the link I posted.

Sorry. I saw $7.90 and thought "cool, right in line".

Akona makes a BCD accessory kit which includes a knife, retractors and light that are made to fit Sherwood BCs.
Akona BC Accessory Kit PRO-KIT with reviews at scuba.com

For $120 I think you can do much better, This light is a waste of money (yes I have one)This is a much beter lightDiving Back-Up Lights - Dive Gear Express

for a knife anything on this page will be more useful than the akona knife. personally i like the dir type of knife, if you are handy with a needle and thread you can make one of these for about $5. The advantage to this style knife is if you loose it you can go to walmart and purchace 4 new knives for $5. DIR style knife https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?product=54.

Thanks for the responses guys.

The Akona stuff is just too expensive for what you get.

Aqua-Andy (or anyone else) how can I determine if a particular knife will fit in the BC knife pocket/sleeve.

I did not notice the Axis had an actual knfe pocket. If it were me I would mount the knife to the waist belt/cumberbun to have easy acess to it. If and when you really need a knife you don't want to be fumbling for, through, around, in, a pocket for it, you want it right ware you can get to it the easiest.

Its not pocket so much as its a sleeve. I thought it was common that BC's had knife sleeves in them. I was hoping there would be a knife compatible with this particular sleeve to save me from having yet another piece of equipment dangling around.
