Just think about how much fatter they will be when it does re-open.

"In total, 788 acres of water in in the Navesink River, Upper Barnegat Bay and Ludlam Bay do not meet DEP standards for fecal coliform.

The cause of the contamination, according to DEP spokesman Larry Hajna, is due to storm water carrying pollutants from the land into the water — particularly things like bird and pet feces."

Very strange to me that there could be that much bird and pet feces in that section to shut it down - presumably all coming from drainage? Just odd.

Mostly just politics taking the place of getting wet for real scientific studies. Note the seasonal wedge between Silver and Barnegat bays. Now THERE are some freaking clever clams! They just shake it off and end up in restaurants.

So let's explore this a bit. Exactly what is the referenced test and who does it???

OH, one more thing. Where did my money for my out of state shellfish permit go this year?
