Are you guys serious about this conversation regarding the pins being sufficient?
You do realize that watches in the 5+$ figure range are delicately balanced on pins far smaller and less sturdy?
I understand these expensive watches are subject to far less caustic conditions (saltwater, pressure, etc) AND the said expensive chronograph is NOT being used as a life-support gauge.
BUT - I've got to ask, honestly how many have ever lost a wrist mounted item that was mounted on OEM strap/device? [Here we go - there's probably some historical brand with bad mounting pins...]
I realize the conversation is most likely occurring between folk who do complex, extremely dangerous dives that require zero loss of equipment - but, aren't you the most likely candidates for double and triple redundancy anyway?

I ordered one of those. After a couple of weeks with no order status or tracking #, I emailed them and they refunded my payment and emailed me that they don't have any. Also, I think the Google search that got me there took me to a page that they said was old and should not be available anymore.

If you go directly to http://www.countycomm.com and try to find the Nitrox-17, you can only find a page for the 20mm version, in orange.

Do not order from CountyComm. I ordered a Delrin Ultimate EDC Capsule (Waterproof) × 1
$24.50 & they sent me an empty package. Bad business practice.

You only get refund if you paid for shipping insurance through Route app. Then you have to file claim & wait for extended period of time. Very poor quality control in their shipping department.

Yes I mean what's happened? Did you get your money back? Another part sent out? Are you still waiting, or have you given up?

Looked at the company FAQs on returns (below), have to say that is a very industrial age return process in the internet age. Not at all a competitive business practice that would make me want to shop there.

Return Policy:
Satisfaction on every purchase is very important to us. You can return the item within ten days for a refund minus ten percent restocking fee & shipping cost. All non-defective returns, items must be in re-saleable condition. No exceptions. For all returns, please first contact us by email mike@countycomm.com for a RMA number. No return will be processed without a valid RMA number. Please include a copy of your receipt or packing list with your phone number with your returned items. All returns must be sent within 5 days after the RMA number is issued. Shipping and Handling fees are not refundable. Please pack the item in its original box with all the accessories and ship your item prepaid. Note: please insure the item accordingly. In any case, a return authorization number must be obtained before returning any items to us. The return authorization number must be clearly printed immediately beneath the "ship to" address.

How soon will I get my refund?
  • Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
  • If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied original method of payment, within 10 business days.
 
Not everyone can be an internet juggernaut like Amazon that can absorb costs in an effort to dominate the market.
 
I have purchased from CountyComm quite a lot over the last 10 years. They are certainly not Amazon, and the technology of their website and ordering process raises my IT eyebrows. However I have been happy with their overall service and customer service. They have some great items that can be hard to find elsewhere, and they have decent pricing. I have no hesitation ordering from them when navigating from their home page. And I also trust that if/when there's problems they will sort it out as they have done in the past.

Campmor is another vendor I really like. 15-20 years ago you got a mailed newspaper quality 5x7 "catalogue" with line drawn images of the items. But they were last years models/colours and so the pricing was excellent. Their service was good too. They have improved greatly and have a decent website. Their service is still good, as is their pricing.

In both cases you're looking at smaller vendors that are in a very competitive market for your hard earned money. I like doing business with the smaller ones where possible, especially if they have some unique items like CountyComm does. If they make mistakes you work with them and usually it is all good in the end. I even have the same or similar capsule!!

This is my first and only order so far. Having an empty package arrive should never have been my first experience with this company, CountyComm. Poor business practice.

The CountyComm return policy doesn't apply in my case because I received an empty package on my first order. Wow!
