Time to start trying to attract more stupid tourists to areas where they are down. They'll soon go back up to where they are supposed to be.

If we stopped kiling all the sharks maybe our kids would be lucky enough to see one... and if some poor unfortunate soul gets a little eaten along the way... well, ummm... too bad.

Interesting that the country with the most attacks is the US. Is this because all are documented? Or, that the US has more sharks because of environmental awareness? Or that there are more crazed surfers and swimmers going into sharky waters? Or that Americans taste better?

35 years ago I used to see blue sharks close to shore and we made games of counting the number we saw driving the boat into town from my home (2.5 miles) or across the Channel to LA (22 miles). Now I don't remember the last blue I saw.

Surprisingly soupfin sharks are making something of a recovery here and we are starting to see them more frequently on the leeward side of the island during late summer and early fall.

BrucieBabe is correct... "we" have been killing them off in large numbers over the past few decades.

Just remember, anytime you enter the ocean, you become part of the food chain.

I always tell snorklers they are food.
When they ask me what I mean I reference feeding fish in a tank.

Where is the food in a fish tank? Floating on the top of the water! :14:

all sharks are communists, they enjoy the taste of capitalist flesh.

You know Lava.............how are we supposed to know how humans taste anyway??? Unless...............naaaaaaaaa I don't even want to go there.

I'm will Dr Bill.......I grew up in So Cal and saw hundreds of blue sharks off San Clemente Island.........now.........not too many. Mostly dive boats ...........and lots of sheep and wild pigs on the island. Hummmmm what if we fed the sheep.............nooooooo ok thats all.

Happy Diving
