This is not intended to scare people just a little bit of caution... There was a shark attack down south that has left a swimmer dead. Here is the story

The white population is growing so be careful out there

Just out of curiosity... How do we be careful?

Thats a good question... I guess what I would do is stay on the bottom and swim in.

I know that when I am diving I spend 99% if the time looking down or in front of me I think I will spend a bit more time looking around.

And the most important rule to live by is always dive with someone slower then you!

I guess rather then saying "be careful" I should of said good luck?

Are sharks territorial? I know they spotted some Whites off Catalina last month. Why are they moving South? Shouldn't they be heading North for colder waters?

They are down off Guadalupe to the south during the fall. GWS are not strictly a northern species, although they tend to be found in northern waters because that's where those fat, juicy seals and sea lions tend to live.

How to be careful? Don't gain so much weight that you look like their natural prey? I'm borderline on that right now so it is time to diet!

Erika and I spotted one off of Leo Carrillo last week.
I swear  I still get goose bumps every time I tell the story.

Ditto. You know what is even more scary did not read that story but hurd it on the news that it was in about 30ft of water and 12-16ft in lenght. thats about how long and of a shark we saw and it was in the same depth. only thing diffrent is this one was over sand not rock :)

And you were on the bottom not the top... well until you decided to go to the top! Thats the worst place to be when a shark is around you got lucky

Yea i say so. At least we saw the tail end not the buissnes end.

I wouldn't worry too much about any GWS diving, in fact I'd like to see one but if I was waiting on the surface for pick up I might take a look around. I would be scared to be swimming during low light times of the day, early morning and twilight.
